New kid on the blog.

Well, this is my second experience with blogging. My first is checking my daughter's friends' profiles on MySpace. I like to know who she is in contact with. She is more technologically savvy than I am because she excluded me from her exclusive friends' list -- I need a password.

Perhaps one of you can help my bypass this barrier.

Truthfully, I strongly dislike sites like these. (O.K. I HATE them.) Since the onset of MySpace and Facebook, etc. I have seen more "cat-fights" arise as a result of postings. Also, many of these profiles are very provocative. I believe these sites provide young adults the opportunity to participate in and spread at a fast rate visual gossip. Furthermore, the consequences are detrimental.

As you can read, my blogging experiences are limited; however, a positive educational experience would be a nice change. I am looking forward to alternate uses for blogging.

I too am concerned about the provocative nature of Myspace and Facebook. My point about Blogs is that since students are familiar with that type of communication, we ought to be able to use it to our educational advantage.

The only way I know of to bypass the password barrier is to hide the power cord until she tells you the password.
